September Saratoga Winery Wedding
Is there anything prettier than an outdoor wedding at a Winery? I sure loved Emily and Nate’s rustic chic vibe at the Saratoga Winery last September! Please take few moments to watch the slideshow from their wedding below. There were so many great moments:
Getting Ready at the Embassy Suites in Saratoga Springs
I loved that Emily and Nate both got ready for their wedding at the Embassy Suites in downtown Saratoga. It was so easy for me as a Wedding Photographer to bounce back and forth between the Bride and Groom!
The suite Emily got ready in had great natural light.
A moment for the dress–such a beautiful gown from Something Bleu.
Friends make getting ready a little easier. I love it when I get to photograph the story of the guys getting ready.
Again, great natural light in the Getting Ready area is so important!
Having friends and family help the Bride is so special.
Formal Wedding Photos in the Embassy Suites
One of the great areas in the Embassy Suites for photos is a metal sculptural piece. I am not really sure what it is, but it is a great and distinctive backdrop that is kind of industrial. Just add a little pop of off camera flash!

Nate is a natural in front of the camera.
One of the things I do when photographing a wedding is to shoot for an album–whether the couple contracts for an album or not. This means I am thinking of page layouts. So if I shoot the Groom in a certain way, I want to have something of the Bride that compliments that. Here I placed Emily in the same location to make sure I had something complimentary to Nate’s portraits. Continuity is really an important element of visual storytelling.
I do the same with Bridal Party formal photos:
Groom with the Groomsmen…
and the complimentary bridesmaid shot. This gives a sense of continuity to the Wedding album.
Saratoga Winery Wedding First Look
Love the open shade under the tree at the Winery by the truck.
A First Look is important to many of my clients. It gives the Bride and Groom some private moments before the Wedding Ceremony. It also allows us to accomplish the majority of the Wedding photos prior to the Ceremony while everyone is still fresh.
Our couple drove to the Winery together–but Nate was blindfolded! Emily and Nate chose to do their First Look at the Saratoga Winery by the iconic yellow vintage pick up truck.
The yellow pickup truck is just iconic.

A formal shot of the group is a must.
But I also like to do more fun shots like this.
The light was just lovely coming through the trees at the Winery.
Leading lines with the wood fence–if you know me, you know I look for those:)

September Saratoga Winery Wedding Ceremony
The main event: The Wedding Ceremony! Emilly and Nate had their ceremony outdoors with a lovely rustic wooden arbor. The ceremony was performed by someone very close to the couple. It was heartfelt and intimate.
The big moment when Dad is ready to escort his daughter usually brings a tear to my eye.
Picture perfect location for a wedding ceremony.

Saratoga Winery Wedding: Cocktails and Reception
The Reception is the time that my couples relax and let their hair down, so to speak. It is fun to capture images of them with their guests. I also loved that their DJ provided cold sparks for night photos by the truck!
