The Mermaid Photoshoot and How It Came About
“I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.”

Finished image–just what I envisioned.
So I try really hard during the year to make time for creative photos that challenge me and make me do things I would not ordinarily get to do in my everyday work life. My Stylist friend Joanna (Lipstick N Lashes) and I had been mulling around the idea of a Mermaid Photoshoot for a very long time.
We finally both had time this week. But first a couple things had to happen. I needed to make the costume. So in true Project Runway fashion, I got down to business. And used A LOT of glue. A LOT. Did I mention that I used A LOT of glue? There were sequins and shells and pearls all over my kitchen. But pretty happy how it came out. I thought it might be fun to show the process and what goes into a styled shoot like this because a lot goes on behind the scenes.

We recruited Joanna’s daughter Bella for the shoot. You have seen this girl before!

Joanna did a fabulous job on the hair and makeup. But I felt like it still needed something.

A crown of pearls! The Photoshop version. It needs a little refinement and I think I still want to make this a painting, but this was the basic process.
So how do you dream of being photographed?
