Intimate Midweek Weddings Are Perfect!
Since the COVID Pandemic, more Intimate Midweek Weddings have become very popular. More and more couples are realizing that in addition to a significant cost savings, they are able to enjoy themselves a whole lot more with a smaller guest list. As a Wedding Photographer, I am totally here for that! I have found that Intimate Midweek Weddings allow for couples to relax more and enjoy their event–which is fabulous for photos! Below are some of my favorites from the Saratoga Destination Wedding last Fall:
Intimate Midweek Weddings–The Details Are Perfect
Loved these bridal details that Meg brought to the Mansion.
Love the beaded mocassins that were a nod to Meg’s Native American background.
There were so many special details that Meg and Matt included. I loved that Meg celebrated her Native American heritage with her and her dad’s beaded mocassins. Her chiffon dress was perfection–loved the sleeves especially! The flowers from The Posie Peddler of course did not disappoint. The bouquets were lush with pink roses, red dahlias and a few sprigs of eucalyptus.
Gorgeous October Days = Gorgeous October Weddings
Got to love that October light!
We were so lucky to have gorgeous weather on a perfect October day. I truly think October is our best season in Upstate NY for a Wedding. The light is just gorgeous.
The Bridal Suite at the Mansion is a great spot for getting ready.
Getting ready is a special time for any bride.
The upstairs guest rooms offer lovely backdrops for wedding portraits of the Bride.
The Wedding Party chose to get ready at the Mansion. In addition to the spacious Bridal Suite and upstairs guest rooms, the downstairs has some great formal rooms.
Not to worry–there are great spots for the Groom as well!

First Look Intimate Wedding Vibes
We were able to accomplish most of the formal images prior to Meg and Matt’s ceremony because they did a First Look prior. Meg’s Dad escorted her to the Music Room where Matt was waiting and they had a few lovely private moments together. While I never push couples one way or another about a First Look, I have found that it is a very efficient way of accomplishing great formal photos while everyone is still “fresh.” It can also be very calming and a great way to let some emotions out before the Ceremony.
I do love the red backdrop in the Music Room–makes for dramatic photos.
Intimate Midweek Weddings–Family Formals, Bridal Party, and Couple Photos
Formal Portraits are essential at any wedding. We work quickly and efficiently.
We used the formal parlor, as well as the Music Room for indoor formals. We were also able to use the outdoor spaces, including the rustic barn. I love it when we can get a wide variety of shots for the couple.
Outdoor Locations for Photos
The outdoor locations at the Mansion are always picture perfect.
Fun with the Groomsmen.
The Mansion offers so many picturesque outdoor locations, it can be hard to choose which to use.
The rustic barn is a great spot for photos.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony by the Pond
Loved these simple details that personalized the ceremony area.
Meg and Matt chose to have their Intimate Midweek Wedding Ceremony by the pond at the Mansion. Their friend officated and it was a lovely ceremony.
Action/Reaction are important to capture in Wedding Photography.

Intimate Midweek Wedding Reception Details
The details set the stage at any Wedding. Meg and Matt had some really beautiful and personal details, but I especially loved the seating chart that had personal notes for every guest.
Starting the Party:
Chef Rick at the Mansion makes the best cakes.
After dinner is when our couples usually let their hair down and have fun. I love being able teo capture that for them.
When I am shooting, I am always thinking about how I will end the story. I like this from earlier in the day.
